Thai Scriptwriter Participates in the 31st Iligan National Writers Workshop

A distinguished Thai television scriptwriter recently attended the 31st “Iligan National Writers Workshop” held in the Philippines.

          The workshop, organized by Mindanao State University -Iligan Institute of Technology ( MSUIIT) in collaboration with the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) of the Philippines, was spearheaded by Dr. Christine Godinez Ortega ; director of the Mindanao Creative and Cultural Workers Group, Inc. The event, part of the Southeast Asian Regional Arts and Literature Exchange Workshop, took place from November 25 - 29, 2024

 

   

 

          Representing Thailand, "Ms. Piangpaitoon Satrawaha," a promising scriptwriter known for her notable works such as Rak lak pop, "Mother" Please call me Mother! and Cutie Pie etc. was selected and supported by both the Association of Thai Writers and the Association of Television Scriptwriters. During the week-long workshop, she collaborated with prominent scriptwriters and filmmakers from across Southeast Asia, including luminaries such as Peter Solis Nery, Rebecca T. Anonuevo, Danton Remoto, and Dr. Hammim B. Casan Mindanao State University, celebrated as a premier educational institution, is affectionately known as “Taxila” or “The Philippines' Southern City of Knowledge” due to its role as a hub for thinkers and writers who convene annually. This year, Thai Airways generously provided sponsorship for airfare, enabling young representatives to engage in knowledge exchange and develop international cultural and literary expertise.
