The DE Deputy Minister said that Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Mr.Anutin Charnvirakul has emphasized the secure and sustainable transformation of government agencies toward digital government. Achieving a fully digital government requires building public confidence in the use of digital technology while ensuring security and safety. On 11 August 2026, the Cabinet approved measures to prevent personal data leaks resulting from compromised user credentials by introducing Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).

At the same time, under the policy of Mr.Chaichanok Chidchob, Minister of Digital Economy and Society, measures have been proposed to strengthen personal data protection and reduce cybersecurity risks across government agencies under all 20 ministries. The initiative aims to enhance security, strengthen confidence among the public, businesses and investors, and raise Thailand's cybersecurity standards to international levels.

The DE Ministry, through the PDPC, has therefore expanded its regional PDPA Center network beyond the five provinces where centers were already operating. In 2026, the Ministry plans to expand the service centers across all five regions. The Ubon Ratchathani center is one of eight provincial centers under the expansion plan and will be located at Mueang Ubon Ratchathani Police Station.

The center will serve as a hub for coordinating and integrating information among relevant agencies while strengthening public confidence in personal data protection across the Lower Northeast. The region is strategically important in terms of the economy, trade and security due to its border connections with neighboring countries. The center will receive reports and provide the public with knowledge and guidance on how to recognize risks, respond to threats, and protect their personal data.
“The DE Ministry places great importance on personal data protection to ensure that people can use digital technology safely and with confidence. Mr.Chaichanok Chidchob, Minister of Digital Economy and Society, has coordinated with all 20 ministries to implement measures to reset access to citizens' data systems within 15 days, supported by Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) and other measures to safeguard personal data.
“At the same time, we are proactively improving public understanding of personal data protection, including the safe use of social media and other digital technologies in everyday life. Most importantly, people need to know how to protect their own data, how to respond when risks arise, and what preventive measures they should take. This will help build public confidence and support Thailand's transition toward a secure, safe and sustainable digital government,” the Deputy Minister said.
