“Bilateral Blossoms” Celebrating 50 Years of Thailand–Vietnam Friendship

Thai Writers Association Partners with Vietnamese Embassy for "Bilateral Blossoms" to Celebrate 50 Years of Diplomatic Ties, Highlighting Literary Diplomacy

​          The Writers' Association of Thailand in collaboration with Embassy of Viet Nam in the kingdom of Thailand, P.E.N (Thailand) and the Poets Association of Thailand, hosted a cultural event marking the 50th anniversary of Thailand–Viet Nam diplomatic relations. Titled “Bilateral Blossoms: Weaving the Melodies of Diplomacy and Poetry,” the event took place from August 16–18, 2026, at the Centara Udon Hotel in Udon Thani.

​          ​The opening ceremony on August 16 was attended by the Ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to Thailand H.E. Pham Viet Hung and the President of the Thai Writers Association, and the Governor of Udon Thani Province, alongside representatives from P.E.N. (Thailand) and the poets association of Thailand, prominent writers, and poets from both nations.

​          ​The event focused on advancing "people-to-people diplomacy" through language, literature, and culture, aiming to build lasting bonds beyond political and economic frameworks. Over the three-day program, delegates participated in knowledge exchanges, poetry readings, and networking sessions designed to pass cultural values down to future generations.

​​          On August 17, attendees visited the Ho Chi Minh Educational and Historical Site in Udon Thani. The delegation was led by Mr. Lae Dilokvidhyarat and Mr. Thanawat Karansakuldon, Chairman of the Site Management Committee, who guided a formal homage ceremony to President Ho Chi Minh.
